Watch a documentary or a lecture without the soundtrack pulling you away. Sound Focus listens to a tab in real time and strips music — and, if you want, sound effects — so only speech remains.

What it does

Music removed, including sung vocals
Sound effects: keep them or strip them
Works in any language, on any site that plays audio
Clean speech plays untouched; about 150 ms delay

How it works

Captures the tab’s audio after you click Start
A speech detector (Silero VAD) and a sound tagger (YAMNet) decide what is voice
A speech enhancer (GTCRN) separates the voice from the music with smooth crossfades

Install Bridge for Chrome

Download the .zip file above and unzip it. On Windows, right-click it and choose Extract All. On a Mac, double-click it.
In Chrome, type chrome://extensions in the address bar and press Enter.
Turn on Developer mode (the switch at the top right).
Click Load unpacked and choose the unzipped folder: the one with manifest.json inside.
Keep that folder where it is. Chrome runs Bridge from it.

Then turn on Sound Focus

Answer the welcome questions (or turn Sound Focus on later from the Bridge icon)
Open a video, click the Bridge icon → Start on this tab (or press Alt+Shift+S)

Bridge isn’t in the Chrome Web Store yet, so Chrome installs it in developer mode. Chrome may remind you that developer-mode extensions are on; that’s expected.
