What Bridge keeps, and why

Bridge stores only what it needs to remember your conversations, courses and settings. We don’t sell your data or show ads.

Last updated 30 September 2026.

What we store

Everything below is stored in our database (Supabase). Each person can only read their own rows, except what you choose to publish.

Your account
Your email address, a password (stored as a hash by our sign-in provider), an optional display name, and when you joined. If you use Bridge without signing up, we create a guest session instead: an account with no email, kept in a cookie on your device, so your chats and progress aren’t lost.
Conversations with the guide
Each chat’s title, who it’s about (“for me” or “for someone I care about”), and every message you and the guide wrote.
Learning progress
Which lessons you finished, your check-in answers and the last lesson you opened, for each course.
Comfort settings
Text size, letters, spacing, colours and Calm mode, so the site looks the same on your other devices.
Courses you make
Titles, outlines, lessons and any images you upload. Published courses and their images are public.
Purchases
Which course, the price and the creator’s share. Checkout is a demo: no card details are asked for and nothing is charged.
Reviews
Your rating, what you wrote and the name you chose to show. Reviews are public.
“Tell me when it’s ready”
Which tools you asked to hear about, so we can email your account address once when they’re ready.
Usage limits
A counter per account for chat, course generation, Simplify and the contact form, so they stay available for everyone.
Messages you send us
What the message is about, what you wrote, the page you came from and, if you give it, an email for a reply.

Without an account, Bridge keeps your Comfort settings and course progress in your browser’s own storage (localStorage) on this device only.

For offline reading, your browser also keeps a copy of public pages you open (courses, Explore, tools), never your account, chats or anything personal. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes them.

When AI is involved

Some features send text to an AI service to write an answer. That only happens when you use them:

  • The guide (chat): your message and the recent conversation.
  • Simplify: the text you paste, or the article text from the link you give. To get it, our server fetches that page for you.
  • Create a course: the topic and the preferences you give.
  • Sign Bridge (beta): if you ask it to build a sentence, only the recognised words. Never the video.

Which AI provider runs these depends on how this copy of Bridge is set up (for example Groq, Google Gemini, Mistral or OpenAI, or a model on the same computer). Each provider handles the text under its own terms. Please don’t paste passwords or anything you wouldn’t want another company to process. If no AI service is set up, Bridge answers with a simpler built-in guide and nothing leaves our server.

The Bridge extension

Bridge for Chrome works on your device. Audio (Sound Focus), video from your camera (Sign Bridge) and the pages you read (Doc Simplifier) are processed on your computer and are not sent to Bridge.

Your answers and settings are saved in Chrome’s extension storage. If Chrome sync is on, Google copies them to your other computers where you use the same Google account. Signs you teach Sign Bridge stay in that browser.

Who else sees your data

  • Supabase hosts the database and sign-in.
  • The AI provider sees the text described above, only when you use those features.
  • The hosting service that runs this website sees standard request details, such as your IP address. Our server also keeps your IP address in memory for a few minutes to apply usage limits. It isn’t written to our database.
  • Everyone can see courses you publish, their images, and reviews you post.

We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookies keep you signed in.

Your choices

  • Download everything Bridge keeps about you, change your details or delete your account from your account page.
  • Deleting your account removes your profile, chats, progress, purchase records, reviews, reminders, usage counters and the images you uploaded. Courses nobody bought are deleted too. A course someone has already bought stays available to them, but no longer shows your account.
  • Guest sessions live on your device. Clearing this site’s cookies ends one; turning it into an account keeps what you made.

Messages you send us

The contact form keeps what you write, what it’s about, the page you came from and, only if you give one, an email for a reply. A person reads each message. We use them to answer you and to fix Bridge, and never for marketing.

Messages aren’t part of the account download, and they stay if you delete your account (without a link to it). To have a message deleted, ask through the contact form and we’ll remove it.

Who runs Bridge, and questions

Bridge is run by Malek Maghraoui, as an individual. Bridge is not a medical service and doesn’t ask for a diagnosis.

To ask about your data, correct it, have it deleted or complain, use the contact form. Choose “My data or privacy”. You can download or delete most of it yourself, straight away, from your account page.
